Melinda

Why did you choose the UK?

I could get my Masters in a year, where it takes at least 2 years in America.

Best thing about the UK?

It is hard to choose one thing that is I’d say is the best, but I do love the scenery and just how pretty everything always looks; even when it is gloomy out!

Have you found any challenges living here?

Not really, sometimes the time difference is hard to adjust to in regards to communicating with family and friends at home.

Have there been any surprises?

No.

Where are you living (uni accommodation / private rented)?

Uni accommodation.

How have you financed your studies?

Through U.S. Student Loans, my parents, and my own finances.

What do you wish you had known before you arrived?

Maybe a little more about the culture and some of the lingo they use, just so I wouldn’t have to keep asking what certain words mean.

Do you think your time here is worth it?

Yes.

How have you coped with money in the UK?

It took some adjustments, but now it is as normal as a U.S. Dollar is to me.

What advice would you give to other students coming to the UK?

Try and do as much as you can while you’re here, because you never know when you’ll have the opportunity to do something like this again.
